We finally made it to a beta release. This means that I'm now reasonably confident that all the mechanisms are working OK, and that the web site isn't going to blow up in your face. It's still 'beta' because there is still a lot of information to load into the site.
However, some images and data files still do not exist.I've tried to catch all these and put in an appropriate message, but the odds are that I've missed some of them.
Beware the Maps section - this is still a mess. The Historical maps are all OK, although I can speed up the downloads quite a bit. The Locality maps are in a state of confusion, a few work, some give the wrong map, and others just don't work. I'll get round to sorting this section out for the next release.
