I have a piece of a wedding dress that was worn by Martha Minett Catterell. It was brought to America from England with John T. Catterell when he was 17 years old. It was given to me by my grandmother who's maiden name is Mank and married name is Heiselman. Any links?

Hi, dads side of the family are Catteralls and am currently doing his family tree so any information would be grateful.
His Grand-Mother was Elizabeth Catterall 13 Strand Barrow-in-Furness(nee Quinlan)married to Frederick, they had a daughter Elizabeth b. December 1905 in Barrow-in-Furness. Elizabeth married Jack Waring and moved to Blackburn.

Hello and greetings from another cousin from Saskatoon. My grandfather was born in Pilling, Lancashire in 1874. He brought his family to Saskatoon, Canada in 1912. They were on the Atlantic when the Titanic went down. My father, who was seven years old, remembered that their ship received a radio message about the Titanic. Their ship (may have been the Celtic) was close to England and too slow to be able to help so, to miss the icebergs, they were diverted to Portland, Maine instead of landing in Quebec.
My grandfather was William (1874-1964) and my father was William (1905-1989). My grandparents had another possible near miss. My grandfather retired in 1939 and they made a return visit to England. When they were ready to return to Canada, my grandmother became ill and they cancelled their booking for the ship. The ship was the Athenia which was torpedoed on the second day of the war. They returned a couple of months later without incident.
